Farmer Giles of Ham, The Rise and Wonderful Adventures of Farmer Giles, Lord of Tame, Count of Worminghall and King of the Little Kingdom, by J.R.R. Tolkien. This is his second major published work, preceded only by the Hobbit. Published in 1949, this is the 1st Large Print Edition published by Cedric Chivers Ltd, in it's original dustjacket. A Fine book, with no soiling, no previous owners names or any other markings. The original dustjacket is not priceclipped and in Fine condition, having been removed from an early archival protector, which has done an outstanding job of preserving the dustjacket in it's original As New condition. The textblock is clean and bright, without fault. No foxing or offsetting, with the trimmed edges clean and bright as well. No previous owner names or writing noted. There are no color plates in this edition, having the original color plates reproduced in black and white. All illustrations by Pauline Baynes are present, as in the original, on almost every page. Highly collectable, this is a beautiful copy for any Tolkien fans collection. Digital photo's available, inquire if interested. Other Tolkien books available, include both the UK and US editions, original cloth bindings, custom fine bindings, and Signed/Numbered/Limited Editions.
