One bumped corner with a small split, just starting to the lower front corner seam of the slipcase. All three volumes are assumed to be the 1st printing thus, from 2002, being the first time ever that the Alan Lee illustrated Lord of the Rings was issued in 3 volumes with all 50 of his color plates. The earlier edition had only 48 color plates and was a smaller size. These images eventually defined the look and feel of Peter Jackson's movie trilogy, and earned Alan Lee an Academy Award. A beautiful fully illustrated set for the Tolkien enthusiast. Photos are of an identical opened set, as this one is still sealed. Digital photo's available, inquire if interested.
