From 1959 to 1962, Blok produced over one hundred paintings based on The Lord of the Rings. His art in minimalist and not at all like the fantasy art to which we have become accustomed. J.R.R. Tolkien liked his art, and purchased two of his paintings. There is a marvelous interview with Blok at the Tolkien Library dot com website, should be on your list to check out. Blok passed away in 2021. This book is in Near Fine condition with its original Near Fine dustjacket, now in protector and a custom black leather slipcase to show and protect this wonderful book. First Edition, 1st impression published in 2011.
